As a traditional artist I sought tertiary education at the Auckland University of Technology in the field of graphic design. However, at my interview the head of digital design (then John Piper), plus one of his top students convinced me to join their course....best decision ever!
Game design is my passion, it always has been. Designing a game or user experience requires many specialty disciplines: coding; 2D art; 2D animation; 3D modelling; Texturing; 3D rigging; 3D animation; environment design; game flow and narrative (concept); story boarding; sound design; marketing; plus keeping up with emerging technology.
I am skilled in each of these disciplines to some degree....but any help will be warmly welcomed.
In the biting cold of the English winter, on the day of December the eight, year 1978, a thing was born....
they named it: Matthew Chapman.
This thing, born in Plymouth hospital, grew to be a well mannered punk. However, upon eight years the thing known simply as Matt, travelled to the other side of the globe, landing in a far away land called New Zealand.
This is where the Matthew Chapman resides to this very day.
